Social Studies

The theme of fourth grade Social Studies is Colorado History.
We will review map skills and terms and become experts on the
different landforms and life zones found in Colorado. Fourth
graders will come to understand how the physical characteristics
of Colorado led cultural groups to select places for settlement.

This year we will discover how Colorado’s past has helped to shape
the present by studying settlers and Native American groups
that have influenced our state.

By comparing and contrasting various accounts of individuals, as
well as analyzing and debating multiple perspectives on an issue,
students will develop their understanding of cause and effect
relationships in the interactions among people and cultures of
Colorado.
