IMPORTANT- Chromebook & Charger Check and Inventory
As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining the integrity of our digital learning environment, we've observed an increase in missing chargers and instances of Chromebook damage. While we understand accidents can occur, it's vital to ensure the proper care and maintenance of these devices for effective learning.
To address these concerns and mitigate any disruptions to your child's education, we will be conducting a comprehensive Chromebook Charger Check and Chromebook Inspection during the week of April 15th.
Here are the key points you need to know:
Chromebook Charger Check: We've noticed an increase of uncharges chromebooks. We ask that your child brings in their charger during this time. A functional charger is essential for your child to fully engage in digital learning activities. During the check, we will identify any missing chargers and collaborate with families to promptly resolve the situation. We encourage you to assist your child in locating the charger if it's missing.
Chromebook Inspection: Alongside the charger check, we'll assess the condition of the Chromebooks themselves. This includes identifying any missing keys, damage, or signs of intentional mishandling. Our objective is to ensure each Chromebook is in optimal working condition to support your child's learning experience.
If any issues are detected during the inspection, we will inform you and include the appropriate repair costs (details provided below). Please note the student device insurance program doesn’t cover intentional damage or lost chargers (see links below).
Lost Chromebook - $260 (Replacement Cost)
Lost/Broken Charger - $35 (if purchased through the library or $14.99 on Amazon; if you purchase a replacement, that charger will replace the lost/broken charger, it is not yours to keep)
Missing keys/damaged keyboard - $50
Damaged Screen - $50
We recognize the significance of these devices in your child's education and value your cooperation in ensuring their proper care and maintenance.
2023-2024 Five Star Ed Tech Student & Family Expectations and Commitments
We are going to ROCK CMAS this year! Thank you for your support!
Attention 3rd-5th grade parents...
As we start testing, I wanted to take a moment to share its importance and encourage your participation.
The CMAS Test is not just an assessment; it's an opportunity for our students to demonstrate their knowledge and skills, and for us as educators to gain valuable insights into their progress and areas for growth. Moreover, it plays a crucial role in our journey towards achieving the prestigious John Irwin School of Excellence and Performance status by next year.
Participation in the CMAS Test is essential for us to gauge our school's academic performance accurately. High participation rates demonstrate our commitment to academic excellence and reflect positively on our school's overall achievement. Every student's contribution is valuable in this collective effort towards excellence. We are aiming for 95% participation!!!
But beyond the immediate benefits to our school, successful results on the CMAS Test hold immense significance for our parents and the broader community. A school that consistently demonstrates high academic performance instills confidence in parents, assuring them that their children are receiving a quality education and are well-prepared for future success. It enhances the reputation of our community, attracting families who seek out strong educational opportunities for their children and contributing to the overall prosperity of our neighborhood.
Let's embark on this journey towards excellence with confidence and determination. Our greatest achievements lie ahead, and I am confident that, together, we will reach new heights of success.
Reminders
Classroom Environment: The Glacier Peak Staff is beginning the process of developing class lists for next year. We believe all of the teacher's dedication, professionalism and commitment to each student at GPE. Building class lists is a multi-week process that includes input from your child's current classroom teacher, the next grade level up, SPED team, specials team, BASE, paras, administration, and other staff members. WE DO NOT ACCEPT REQUESTS FOR SPECIFIC TEACHERS. However, we recognize that there may be extenuating circumstances or other information related to the classroom environment that need to be considered as we determine student placement. If you would like to fill out an Environmental Classroom Form, please contact Stacey Townsend at 720-972-5942 or tow012763@adams12.org she will email you the form directly.
Take Your Child to Work Day: Thursday, April 25, 2024, is designated as TYCTW day. You can find more information regarding this day on this link.
Snacks in the lunchroom: Due to food allergies and all of your hard earned money, please make sure that you remind your own child to only purchase snacks in the cafeteria for them and not their friends (only if they purchase snacks, some of our students do not). Our paras will help reinforce this as well.
