Important Updates
May 16, 2023
Glacier Peak families,
I hope everyone had an amazing Mother’s Day this weekend. I can’t believe I am reaching out to you with only 8 days remaining in the school year. I am speechless, while also doing my best to soak in every moment of this amazing school and community. My only complaint is that I am absolutely over the rain. We do need the moisture, so I am grateful yet impatient for longer sunny days. Regardless, in reflection on this school year, I need to express that it has been an absolute pleasure being the principal at Glacier Peak this year. I love seeing the students always coming in ready to learn even on cold, somber days like yesterday. Also on Monday, we had the honor and pleasure of celebrating GPE alumni that will be graduating with the class of 2023. It was awesome how all Glacier students celebrated these former Grizzlies in this pre-run of our 5th-grade clap-out. This is truly such a great community and please be on the lookout for my farewell expression of gratitude coming next week. Please take a look at these important updates regarding upcoming events this week.
Important Reminders:
Field Day: (Rescheduled for Monday 5/22) Due to a disappointing weather forecast for this Friday of thunderstorms and temps in the low 60's, we must move our Field Day event to our backup day, which is Monday, May 22nd. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and wanted to make this decision quickly to provide you with the earliest notice possible. While forecasts can change, next Monday's forecast is 80 degrees and mostly sunny, which would make Field Day a much more enjoyable outdoor event and allow us to keep our water stations. All times will remain the same as what was planned on Friday. Here is the attached newsletter with all the information.
Sincerely,
Taylor Hood
PE Teacher

Please review access restored: CLASSROOM ENVIRONMENT FORMS FOR 2023-2024: We have begun planning for the 2023-2024 school year, and are inviting you to complete a classroom environment form to indicate specific preferences for your student(s). We sent this out as early as April but just recently discovered that the digital form was not taking responses. This problem has been fixed. We value your insight about the various needs and environments that would best suit your child(ren). Your input is important and will be taken into consideration when class lists are established. Note: There are no guarantees for a placement, and we ask that you refrain from requesting specific teacher names. You can also pick up the classroom environment request forms at the front office.
