November 10th Reminders

Happy Thursday everyone. Even though I sent out the school-wide newsletter last week, I am excited about sending this communication out as we head into Veterans Day weekend and a small break. I came across a quote that I would like to share with our community. The quote was shared by Brene’ Brown that she lifted from some inspiration she had identified in her research. The quote says, “It’s not joy that makes us grateful, it’s gratitude that makes us joyful.” We have the opportunity to work with all of your children, as they show up for learning every day. This is what we are grateful for at Glacier Peak!

With us celebrating gratitude for the month of November, Glacier Peak staff and students are currently reflecting on what we are grateful for at school. We would love to hear from our valued families and greater educational community about what and who you are grateful for at Glacier Peak Elementary School.

Please take a brief moment to express your gratitude to our amazing staff.  Your words of appreciation  make a great impact on our school culture and climate.  I will compile all responses and share them with the staff on November 18th before they leave for the break. Thank you!

A Note of Gratitude for Glacier Peak

There will be No School tomorrow Friday, 11/11 in observance of Veterans Day. We take this day to honor all of those who have served in war or peace as well as those who are currently serving our country. Be sure to help your children understand the goal of this National holiday by checking out these 5 Facts about Veterans Day.

As I mentioned in my September newsletter, Adams 12 Five Star Schools opened the opportunity to parents to participate in the 2022-23 Five Star Leadership Academy. It is currently the eighth year of the program and it is designed to answer the following wonderings:

  • Ever wonder how a public school district works and how to get involved?

  • Where does the money come from?

  • How does the district keep kids safe?

  • How can I contribute to the success of schools?

Our parent representative has shared the following linked information from the last meeting. The focus of the information shared will be on school finance.

Thanks for taking the time to read this week’s updates. Have a great rest of your week and happy Veterans Day this upcoming Friday.
