My name is Betsy States. My husband Scott and I are blessed with two sons. Nickolaus is 16 and Jacob is 12. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, playing games, and gardening. As a young child I always said I would be a Kindergarten teacher when I grew up. In 1998 those words held true. I started as a teacher in Adams Twelve a single 24 year old eager to teach. Many years have gone by, but I still feel that same excitement with the beginning of each new year. I love how eager, and maybe a little nervous, my students are that first day of school, and how quickly they begin to learn the routines and expectations. Watching how much they grow and learn in one year is amazing to see. Teaching Kindergarten is very rewarding and fun. Throughout the past 21 years teaching Kindergarten has changed academically, but the fun and excitement is still there. My goal as a teacher is not only to educate my students to their full potential, but to keep the fun alive and start their love of education off right.
